Homeowners need a simple way to keep their heating and cooling systems in peak condition and guard against costly repairs. Townsend's Service Plans deliver cost-effective protection for every vital system, including heating, cooling, hot water and even the oil tank.
Townsend Service Plans focus on essential preventive maintenance, energy conservation and repair coverage. When you're on a plan, you can rest assured that your equipment is well maintained and tuned for peak efficiency, and emergency help is always just a phone call away. Repair coverage varies between plans.
For Oilheat systems, the premium option is the GoldGuard Service Plan, which covers 60 important system components. You can combine multiple service plans and use our Intelli-Pay Plan to include the cost in a monthly payment plan.

General Conditions
- Service plan coverage is contingent on inspection of the heating system by Townsend Oil & Propane.
- Townsend Oil & Propane reserves the right to inspect all heating equipment and refuse to perform any service or repair work on equipment deemed unsatisfactory.
- Service performed that is not explicitly listed on the contract will be charged at the prevailing rate.
- Townsend Oil & Propane reserves the right to cancel the plan upon 10 days written notice.
- Customer's account must be in good standing.
- Customer agrees not to purchase fuel oil from other sources.
- Annual tune-up reminder cards will be mailed once a year and tune-ups are scheduled by appointment only during normal business hours. It is the customer's responsibility to arrange this appointment for this very important service.
Other Conditions
Townsend Oil & Propane will not accept responsibility for the loss of heat in any unoccupied buildings, for delays or damages resulting from fires, accidents, power interruptions, water in basement, water in storage tank and/or lines, labor difficulties, acts of the Government, flood, war, hurricanes, earthquakes, or any acts of God, or other causes beyond our control; or for any loss or damage caused directly or indirectly by services performed, for any consequential or special damage of any kind whatsoever, for any reason.
Exclusions
- This agreement does not cover replacement of a complete boiler, furnace, burner, hot water heater (indirect or oil-fired), mechanical chimney (power venter), tankless coil, radiant heat, humidifier or piping, baffles, oil lines, oil storage tanks, auxiliary lift pumps, electric wiring, domestic plumbing, draining of expansion tanks and purging of radiators or any parts or services not explicitly mentioned in the agreement.
- Except to the limits of protection under the TankSure Program for those customers enrolled in such program, Townsend Oil & Propane is not liable for any environmental pollution or pollution cleanup due to tank rupture, oil line leak or any contamination resulting from the oil distribution system.

We will inspect, clean and adjust all of the following components of your central air conditioning system:

- Level Condensing Unit (if necessary)
- Check for Refrigerant Leaks

TERMS & CONDITIONS FOR: CoolGuard
General Conditions
- If you have multiple systems, you must have a service plan for each.
- The system check-up as outlined should be performed once during the term of this service plan and it is the customer's responsibility to arrange for this service.
- The customer's right to the check-up expires at the end of each coverage year and no credit will be issued if the check-up is not performed.
- Townsend Oil & Propane reserves the right to inspect and approve the equipment covered prior to accepting the service plan. Initial repairs which might be required to put the air conditioning system in acceptable condition are not covered.
- This service plan is for ordinary residential systems up to 5 tons of cooling.
- The length of this service plan is one year. It will automatically renew at that time unless Townsend Oil & Propane is notified of cancellation in writing thirty (30) days prior.
- Customer's account must be in good standing to be covered by this service plan.
- Services performed which are not explicitly listed will be charged at the prevailing rate.
- This service plan may be terminated at any time by either party, without refund.
- Service work performed by anyone other than Townsend Oil & Propane may invalidate this plan.
Other Conditions
Townsend Oil & Propane will not accept responsibility for the loss of cooling in any unoccupied buildings, for delays or damages resulting from fires, accidents, power interruptions, labor difficulties, acts of the Government, flood, war, hurricanes, earthquakes, or any acts of God, or other causes beyond our control; or for any loss or damage caused directly or indirectly by services performed, for any consequential or special damage of any kind whatsoever, for any reason.
Exclusions
- This service plan does NOT cover parts and labor costs caused by: tripped circuit breakers, electrical wiring, incorrect thermostat settings, Freon, refrigerant leak repairs, frozen condensate drain line in the attic, frozen evaporators, replacement of complete a/c system or any EPA cleanup costs.
- This service plan does not cover liability or damages resulting from failure of the equipment or consequential damages resulting in delays or inability to supply parts caused by, or resulting from, causes outside of Townsend Oil & Propane's control, or at unattended homes.
- Townsend Oil & Propane will not be responsible for replacement of obsolete or unavailable parts.
- No refrigerants of any type are covered under this plan.

Optional Tank Protection Plan for Indoor and Aboveground Tanks
Our TankSure® program enables us to evaluate the safety and integrity of your oil tank, using EPA-approved ultrasonic testing - giving you a sense of security ... or advance warning of a possible problem. Once your tank is qualified, you get a tank payment credit that covers $1,000 of its replacement cost in the extremely rare instance that a release should occur.

Ultrasonic Inspection

- Your tank's thickness measurements, physical characteristics and surrounding environment are analyzed with state-of-the-art tank profiling software
- Tank information is compiled on a tank inspection certificate for your records
- This is important documentation if you ever sell your home
TERMS & CONDITIONS FOR: The TankSure Program - Optional Tank Protection Plan
Conditions & Exclusions:
The TankSure® Program provides among other benefits a tank testing service and the TankSure® Program Limited Payment. An ultrasonic tank test will be performed by our technician before your tank can be accepted for enrollment in the TankSure® Program. While we cannot guarantee the prevention of a leak or other failure of your tank, we are providing these new services with the hope that by testing and monitoring, we are offering a long-term proactive tank replacement program for our customers. We recommend that an annual test of your fuel tank be performed. If a tank leak occurs due to corrosion once you are on the program, or a tank leak occurs due to a manufacturer's defect or a non-leaking tank is identified for proactive replacement by the TankSure® Tank Analysis Software, Townsend Oil & Propane will cover up to $1,000 toward the replacement of your tank in accordance with the terms of the TankSure® Program Limited Payment. This Agreement is renewed automatically each year. Upon termination for any reason, there shall be no refunds or credits allowed. This Agreement is not in force if the Customer's account is delinquent or if the Customer is not a current heating oil customer. The yearly tank inspection and ultrasonic testing shall be done in conjunction with the customer's regularly scheduled annual heating and/or cooling system tune-up.

- Coverage includes burner parts, aquastat controls and emergency switch.
- Annual performance check will be performed in conjunction with the Conservation Tune-up of your heating system.
